Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PlexFix Pro's remote Plex support service.

Service & Pricing
What does PlexFix Pro actually fix?
We fix buffering and playback issues, hardware transcoding problems (Intel QSV, NVIDIA NVENC, AMD VCE), remote access failures, Plex Pass and authentication errors, library scanning and metadata issues, network and port-forwarding problems, NAS/Docker/Linux server configs, and full server rebuilds or migrations.
How much does it cost?
Flat-rate pricing with no hourly billing: Quick Fix ($49) for single-issue diagnosis and repair, Full Setup ($99) for comprehensive server optimization and multi-issue fixes, and Pro Build ($149) for full server rebuilds, migrations, or new installations.
What if you can't fix it?
No fix, no charge. If we can't resolve your issue during the session, you pay nothing. We'll tell you honestly what the problem is and whether it's something fixable remotely or requires a hardware change.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal. Payment is collected after the issue is confirmed fixed — not before.
Remote Sessions
How does a remote session work?
After booking, we schedule a remote session at a time that works for you. You share a temporary screen-share link (like Parsec, AnyDesk, or similar). We diagnose and fix the issue while you watch in real time. Access is cut the moment the job is done — we never keep credentials.
How fast can I get help?
Most sessions are scheduled same-day or next business day. Quick Fix issues are often resolved within an hour. Full Setup and Pro Build projects typically take 1-3 business days depending on complexity.
Is my data safe during a remote session?
Yes. We make backups before any risky changes, never delete media or library data without your explicit permission, and the remote session ends the moment the work is done. Your content and credentials stay yours.
Platforms & Compatibility
What platforms do you support?
We support Plex on Windows, macOS, Linux, Synology, QNAP, Unraid, TrueNAS, Docker, and bare-metal setups. If it runs Plex Media Server, we can work on it.
Do I need Plex Pass for your service?
No. We work with both free Plex and Plex Pass accounts. However, some features we optimize (like hardware transcoding) do require Plex Pass. We'll let you know if a Plex Pass would help your specific situation.
Can you help with Jellyfin or Emby?
Our primary focus is Plex, but many of the same skills apply to Jellyfin and Emby. Contact us with your specific issue and we'll let you know if we can help.
About Us
Are you affiliated with Plex, Inc.?
No. PlexFix Pro is an independent third-party support service. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Plex, Inc. We're experienced Plex users and media-server technicians who specialize in fixing Plex problems.
What if the problem comes back?
We configure things to last. If the same issue returns within 30 days of a fix, we'll come back and make it right at no additional charge.
